Open Field Test

The open field test is mainly used to observe the autonomous activity ability and exploration behavior of animals in the face of new and different environments.

Experimental Principle

The open field experiment is a behavioral test established for anxiety-related studies using the conflict between fear and exploration psychology in rodents. In the new open environment, rodents tend to move in the peripheral area due to fear. But the love of exploring nature drives it to move in the central area.

Experimental Flow

• Place the experimental animal with its back to the experimenter, quickly in the center of the experimental area, and leave immediately.
• Animal behavior analysis software was used to record the activity of animals in the open field within 15 minutes.
• After the experiment is completed, remove the experimental animals from the experimental chamber and clean the chamber. After changing the experimental animals, repeat the above operation.

Experimental Indexes
