| Small platform water environment | The rodent's fear of water and inability to sleep in water are exploited. A small enough platform was placed in the water tank for the animals to stand on. The experimental animals were deprived of sleep by rhythmically lowering their heads and touching the water due to a decrease in general muscle tone. |
