The Von Frey test is a widely used, standardized test for quantifying mechanical stinging in rodents. Our company is committed to providing customers with complete solutions for rodent pain measurement, including Von Frey test. We provide customized test solutions to facilitate your relevant researches according to your demands.
In the Von Frey test, experimental animals are placed individually in cages with mesh or other bottom-penetrating cages. The monofilament was stimulated vertically on the plantar surface of the hind paw of the experimental animal until it flexed for 2-5 seconds. If the rodent appears to retract its paws, lick or shake its paws, it is considered to have a positive response. Once these responses occur, the required pressure is expressed in g and the value is considered as a single threshold value.

The following is an example of the development of mechanical allodynia induced by nerve injury.

To confirm the development of mechanical abnormal pain, hind paw withdrawal thresholds in an animal model of neuropathic pain were examined using e-von Frey at 1, 4, 7 and 14 days after neuropathic pain surgery. Development of mechanical abnormal pain in nerve-injured (NP) and sham-injured (Sham) rats. After nerve injury, mechanical withdrawal thresholds were significantly lower in the NP group with POD 1, 4, 7 and 14 compared to the sham group.
