Polymeric Nanoparticle Development Service

Development of Polymeric Nanoparticles for Gene Delivery

Our company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of gene delivery vectors, including polymeric nanoparticles, which are promising in the field of gene therapy. We offer custom formulation services and product performance testing of different types of polymeric nanoparticles to meet our customers' needs for the use of polymeric nanoparticles as gene delivery vectors in gene therapy for rare diseases.

Background

Polymeric nanoparticles are small particles with a diameter of 1 to 1000 nm and offer biocompatibility, structural versatility, ease of design and preparation, and interesting bio-mimetic properties. Polymeric nanoparticles have been used extensively in the development of gene therapy vectors and have now resulted in multi-functional viral mimetic vectors that provide increasingly effective spatial and temporal control over bio-distribution, controlled release, and intracellular delivery in vivo.

Increased understanding of cellular and molecular biology and rapid advances in material synthesis and characterization techniques have driven the development of safer and more effective non-viral gene vectors. Together with the tremendous advances in our ability to manipulate the genome and molecular-level and nanoscale phenomena, this promises to produce clinically relevant breakthroughs in the field of gene therapy, thereby providing new and improved therapies for rare diseases.

Our Services

Based on our knowledge and experience in polymeric nanoparticle synthesis and characterization techniques and their gene therapy applications, we offer our customers tailored synthesis methods and in-depth analysis to accelerate the development of gene therapies for rare diseases. The services we offer include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of polymeric nanoparticles
The overall efficiency of a gene delivery vector is influenced by a number of factors such as particle size, surface chemistry of the nanoparticle/gene complexes, entrapment efficiency, and the process parameters involved in the synthesis. We offer our customers multiple synthesis methods, each unique in providing specific entrapment efficiency for genetic materials.
    • Top-down strategies involving the milling of preformed polymers into appropriately sized particles. The technologies we offer include salting-out dialysis, nanoprecipitation, solvent evaporation, and supercritical fluid technology.
    • Bottom-up strategies involving direct polymerization of monomers through conventional multiple reactions. The technologies we offer include emulsion polymerization and recombinant technology.

We help our customers synthesize five different classes of polymeric nanoparticles including micelles, cross-linked micelles, polymersomes, microgels, and nanogels. We develop and prepare different classes of polymer delivery platforms to provide different virus mimetic functionalities, such as evasion of the immune system, endolysosomal escape, active and passive targeting, and nucleic acid protection, depending on the customers' requirements.

  • Modification of polymer nanoparticles
We offer our customers a variety of modification services including the addition of modifiers, grafting onto polymer surfaces, and the formation of core-shell structures.
  • Characterization of polymeric nanoparticles
We offer a variety of techniques such as dynamic light scattering (DLS) and photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) to help customers fully characterize polymeric nanoparticles, including size, shape, composition, concentration, surface properties, crystallinity, and dispersion state.

Our company has a long history of providing services related to gene therapy to pharmaceutical companies and research institutions. In view of the considerable promise shown by polymeric nanoparticles in gene therapy for various diseases, we offer our customers services for the preparation, modification, and characterization of polymeric nanoparticles to enhance their role in the pharmaceutical industry.
