Skin-on-A-Chip Models Development Service

The Skin-on-a-Chip models are important tools in the development of human skin mimicking their microfluidics and 3D real skin tissues, which in itself is a great achievement for therapeutic development and research in skin disease. At Protheragen, best-in-class services are offered for the development of Skin-on-a-Chip models that allow for precise disease modeling and drug testing for rare dermatological conditions.

Overview of Skin-on-A-Chip Models

Skin-on-a-Chip models are micro-fluidic systems that construct the multifunctional human skin tissue which contains the epidermis layer, dermis layer and blood vessels. Recent efforts have integrated cell heterogeneity, dynamic perfusion, and immune elements to produce more accurate models for skin disease and therapeutics research. Compared to traditional in vitro models, these models enable studying mechanisms of diseases, drug action, and their toxicity in a more relevant human environment, which are largely controlled, making it more precise and accurate.

Advances of Skin-on-A-Chip Models

Skin-on-a-Chip models are now capable of more complex constructs, powered by advanced technologies such as microfluidics, allowing for the integration of skin vasculature and immune system and moving away from static 3D cultures. These models are targeted on a broad scope on infectious and inflammatory skin disease and the side effects of some drugs as well as skin rejuvenation, making them superior to traditional animal models.

Our Services

The advancement of research specific to rare dermal diseases is Protheragen's mission, and this is achieved through the development of innovative skin-on-a-chip models. By integrating microfluidics technology into a 3D skin model, we provide accurate and physiologically relevant models that closely imitate the complexity of human skin and allow us to meet the diverse research requirements of our clients.

Workflow of Skin-on-A-Chip Models Development

Custom Design and Platform Setup
Microfluidic platforms are designed and fabricated to fill the need of specific research by replicating the dermal and epidermal layers.

Cell Seeding and 3D Tissue Cultivation
Keratinocyte and endothelial skin cells are cultured and seeded to grow a 3D tessue engineered construct with blood vessels.

Dynamic Condition Simulation
Controlled fluid flow is introduced to replicate physiological conditions, creating a realistic and interactive environment.

Data Analysis and Reporting
In support of the complete research and the development of a therapeutic solution, comprehensive experiences are performed and the results compiled into detailed reports.
