Haemophilus ducreyi bacterium is responsible for the sexually transmitted infection known as Chancroid. Due to our expertise in exploring chancroid vaccine and therapy development, our company is positioned to deliver onestop solutions' to all global pharmaceutical companies.
Overview of Chancroid
Chancroid, or soft chancre, is painless necrotic genital ulcers, which is worse because it is highly infectious sexually transmitted disease. Chancroid is primarily caused by the gram negative bacterium Haemophilus ducreyi, the primary area that this pathogen invades is the genitals. This pathogen targets the mucosal tissues, causing the tissue to bleed and eventually form sores with swollen lymph nodes in the affected people.

Vaccine Development for Chancroid
For infectious diseases, vaccination has remained the most effective way of infection prevention and control. The target of the developing Chancroid Vaccine should be the ever Haemophilus Ducreyi so that the immune system would be prevented from acquiring the Chancroid disease.
In reverse vaccinology, one starts with genomic and proteomic interrogation of the pathogen in an effort to identify possible immunogenic components. Conservation of sequences and use of bioinformatics tools in a variety of algorithms can lead scientists to seek out greatly immunogenic epitopes or antigens.
Therapeutics Development for Chancroid
Currently, antibiotic therapy is the mainstay for treating chancroid. The choice of antibiotic depends on the susceptibility patterns of the local strains of H. ducreyi. Recommended antibiotics include ceftriaxone, azithromycin, and erythromycin. However, the emergence of antibiotic resistance poses a significant challenge in the effective management of chancroid. Therefore, our focus extends beyond conventional antibiotics, as we explore innovative approaches such as targeted therapies and immunomodulatory agents to enhance outcomes.
